Situated near the end of one of London’s most renowned streets for dining, Zucca takes the local competition in its stride. With a traditional Italian kitchen presenting smartly sourced food in a pleasantly contemporary and spacious setting, it’s easy to see how this place maintains its popularity. Emphasis is on offering a well-balanced and flavorsome expression of seasonal ingredients and the philosophy is staunchly of the Slow Food variety. A starter of burrata, wild garlic, capers and chili followed by braised pig’s cheeks with chicory, borlotti, pine nuts and raisins, washed down with a punchy red? Yes please! But save room for dessert. Even the vanilla ice cream is a full-on flavor experience. The food might be “slow”, but service is swift, adding up to a gracious dining experience (as long as you’ve got a rez).
